INGREDIENTS:

  • A few cardamom pods (crushed for flavour)
  • Nuts (like Almonds and Cashew) for garnish (Chopped)

Preparation Method

Step 1 (Badam Halwa)

  • Soak the almonds in water for a few hours or overnight. This will make them easier to peel. Once soaked, remove the skins from the almonds.
  • Grind the peeled almonds into a smooth paste using a food processor or a grinder. You can add a little milk to aid the grinding process.
  • Take a pan and add ghee and heat it on medium flame.
    Add the almond paste to the pan and sauté it in the ghee for about 5-7 minutes until it starts to release a pleasant aroma.
  • In a separate bowl, warm the milk and dissolve the saffron strands in it (if using).

Step 2 (Badam Halwa)

  • Slowly add the warm milk to the almond paste in the pan, stirring continuously to avoid lumps.
  • Add the sugar to the pan and continue stirring. The mixture will start to thicken.
  • Add the crushed cardamom pods for extra flavor and aroma.
  • Keep stirring the mixture on medium-low heat until it reaches a halwa-like consistency. The ghee will start to separate from the halwa, and it will become glossy.
