Hello Friends welcome to SAS FOOD BLOGS, Today we are going to see how to make Tomato Upma Recipe.

INGREDIENTS:

  • Rava – 1 Cup
  • Oil – 2 Tablespoon
  • Mustard – 1 Teaspoon
  • Urad Dal – 1 Teaspoon
  • Curry Leaves – Few
  • Cumin Seeds – 1 Teaspoon
  • Chana Dal – 1 Teaspoon
  • Dry Red Chilli – 1 No
  • Asafoetida – ¼ Teaspoon
  • Onion – 1 No (Large Onion Finely Chopped)
  • Green Chilli – 1 No (Chopped Finely)
  • Ginger – ½ Inch (Finely Chopped)
  • Tomatoes – 2 No’s (Finely Chopped)
  • Turmeric Powder – ¼ Teaspoon
  • Red Chilli Powder – ½ Teaspoon
  • Salt – As per your taste
  • Water – As per your need
  • Lemon Juice – ½ Teaspoon
  • Coriander Leaves – ¼ Cup (Chopped Finely)
  • Ghee – ½ Teaspoon

Preparation Method:

Today’s recipe is a Tomato Upma Recipe, so let’s get started.

Step 1 (Tomato Upma Recipe)

  • Take a pan and heat it and add 1 cup of rava and stir it until it becomes aromatic by keeping the flame on low, once the rava turns aromatic turn off the stove and keep it a side.  
  • Then take a kadai and heat it and add 2 tablespoon of oil and then add 1 Teaspoon of Mustard and add 1 Teaspoon of Urad Dal.
  • And then add Few Curry Leaves and add 1 Teaspoon of Cumin Seeds and then add 1 Teaspoon of Chana Dal.
  • And add 1 No of Dry Red Chilli and add ¼ Teaspoon of Asafoetida.
  • Then add Finely Chopped Onion and stir it well until it reaches golden brown colour by keeping the flame on low.
  • And add Finely Chopped Green Chilli and then add Finely Chopped Ginger.
  • Then add Finely Chopped Tomatoes and saute it until it turns soften and mushy by keeping the flame on low.
  • And add ¼ Teaspoon of Turmeric powder and then add ½ Teaspoon of Red Chilli Powder and check for seasoning by adding Salt as per your taste.
  • Then add Water as per your need and add ½ Teaspoon of Lemon Juice and then garnish with finely chopped coriander leaves and drizzle ½ teaspoon of ghee on the top of the serving plate.
