How to make Aloo Bonda?

INGREDIENTS:

For Making Potato Filling

Boiled Potato – 5 no’s

Mustard seeds – 1 Tsp.

Cumin seeds – 1 Tsp.

Onion – 1 no chopped

Green chilli – 3 no’s chopped

Chopped Ginger

Turmeric powder – 1/4 Tsp.

Coriander leaves

Oil

Salt to taste

For Making Batter

Besan/Gram flour – 1 cup

Rice flour – 1 Tbsp.

Chilli powder – 1 Tsp.

Turmeric powder – 1/4 Tsp.

Salt to taste

Water

Oil for frying

Preparation Method

Step 1 (Aloo Bonda)

Today’s recipe is a simple and tasty snacks recipe that is Aloo Bonda and so let’s gets started.

For making aloo masala (potato masala), take a pan and add little oil and add 1 tea spoon of mustard seeds then add 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds, once the mustard seed starts fluttering then add 1 onion finely chopped and add 3 green chillies chopped.

Step 2 (Aloo Bonda)

Then add a piece of ginger finely chopped and add quarter teaspoon of turmeric powder and add check for seasoning by adding 1 teaspoon of salt. Saute the onions for few minutes then add 5 medium sized potatoes that have been boiled and mashed then turn off the stove.

And add some chopped fresh coriander leaves and mix it well, cool the potato mixture.

Step 3 (Aloo Bonda)

For making batter, Take a bowl and add 1 cup of besan or gram flour and add 1 table spoon of rice flour then check for seasoning by adding salt then add 1 tea spoon chilli powder and add quarter teaspoon of turmeric powder and mix everything together.

Then gradually pour water to get a nice thick batter, so make sure you get a nice thick batter to coat the masala. After the aloo masala has cooled down completely then start to make Aloo Bonda.

Step 4 

Just take a little bit of the filling and roll it to your desired size then dip the filling into the batter make sure it is well coated and gently drop it under the hot oil. Once the Bonda reach nice golden brown color then remove from the oil.

Simple and tasty Aloo Bonda is ready now; serve it hot with a nice coconut chutney or pickle by the side. So you can try this recipe in your home and enjoy it and share the recipe with your family and friends.
