How to make Chana Masala ?

INGREDIENTS:

Chana (Soaked) – 2 cups 

Onion – 4 chopped

Tomatoes – 4 blanched & pureed

Ginger & garlic paste – 1 tsp.

Chilli powder – 1 tsp.

Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp.

Chana masala powder – 1 1/2 tsp.

Cinnamon – 1

Cloves – 4

Cardamom – 2

Oil – 1 1/2 tsp.

Salt to taste

Cumin seeds – 1/2 tsp.

Green chilli – 1

Water – 300 ml

Preparation Method

Step 1 

Today’s recipe is a delicious side dish Chana Masala, and so let’s gets started.

First step we need to blanch the tomatoes and you need to remove the skin and puree it.

Take a nice wide sauce pan, and add one and a half tablespoons of oil and add the whole spices like cinnamon, clove and cardamom and add few Cumin seeds.

Step 2 (Chana Masala)

Next add the chopped onions and add green chillies, once the onions reached golden brown color add a TSP of ginger-garlic paste. And then add the chana (The added chana is being soaked overnight and pressure cooked).

To this add turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon, chilli powder 1 teaspoon and chana’s masala powder 1 and 1/2 teaspoon and mix it well. And add some salt, then add the tomato puree and add enough water.

Step 3 

Once you have added enough water check for seasoning and then transfer into the pressure cooker and cook it for about 2 to 3 whistles. Its is done and it’s cooked beautifully, garnish with some fresh coriander leaves.
