Preparation Method

Step 1 (Palak Paneer)

Today’s recipe is a classic Indian paneer side dish Palak Paneer, and it has all the goodness of paneer and palak in it so let’s get started.

First step to Palak Paneer is to blanch the palak leaves, to a pot add enough water for blanching once the water is hot add the palak leaves. I have taken 1 large bunch of palak leaves; blanch the palak leaves for about 2 or 3 minutes.

Step 2 (Palak Paneer)

For the palak paneer we are going to make the masala now, for this take a kadai and add 1 tablespoon of butter and once the butter is melted add 1 TSP of cumin seeds and next add 1 large onion finely chopped.

And 2 large green chillies finely chopped and 4 cloves of garlic and a piece of ginger chopped and saute the onions till they are turned into nice golden brown color. Once the onions have turned to a nice golden brown color and add 2 medium sized Tomatoes finely chopped.

Step 3

Cook the tomatoes for about 5 to 10 minutes, once the onions and tomatoes are cooked turn off the stove and need to cool the mixture completely and transfer the cooked masala to a mixer jar.

To this add the blanched palak leaves and grind to a nice fine paste. To the same kadai add 1 table spoon of butter and keep the flame on low and to this I am going to add all the spices powder starting with quarter TSP turmeric powder, 1 TSP of Kashmiri red chilli powder.

Step 4 (Palak Paneer)

And add 1 TSP of coriander powder, 1 TSP of cumin powder, 1 TSP of garam masala powder and mix everything. And now add the palak puree in kadai and pour some water into the jar and remove all the masala that’s sticking in the jar.

I have added about one cup of water and if the masala is too thick you can add a little more water to get the right consistency for the palak curry. I add about one teaspoon of salt and if you need more you can add now.

Step 5

The gravy has been cooking for about 5 to 10 minutes on low flame now add the cut paneer pieces. Close and cook for 5 minutes on low flame.

So there you go here is this delicious palak paneer that you can try and enjoy with some roti or rice. So you can try this recipe in your home and enjoy it and share the recipe with your family and friends.
