Preparation Method

Step 1 (Matar Pulao)

Today’s recipe is a very classic mutter pulao recipe, so let’s get started

For the mutter pulao (pea’s pulao) I have taken one cup of basmati rice pour enough water wash it a couple of times and soak it for about 30 minutes.

So first I am going to make a paste of green chilli, I have taken two green chillies, a piece of ginger and four cloves of garlic just make a coarse paste by grinding it for a few times.

Step 2 (Matar Pulao)

So we are going to make the matar pulao in a pressure cooker, to the pressure cooker add about one and a half tablespoons of ghee and about two teaspoons of oil to this I am going to add all the whole spices starting with bay leaf, cinnamon, clove and cardamom.

And add quarter teaspoon of cumin seeds next add 2 large onions thinly sliced next add 2 green chillies slit saute the onions till they are transparent. So the onions are transparent next I am going to add the ground ginger garlic and green chilli paste.

Step 3 (Matar Pulao)

Next add some fresh peas are roughly about 200 grams and to this add one teaspoon of salt. So you can see it’s a very simple pulao for a lunch or dinner this is something that you can make very quickly and with very few ingredients.

So cook the peas for about five minutes, after five minutes add the soaked basmati rice and then gently mix the rice along with the peas. After two minutes of adding the rice I am going to add one and a quarter cup of diluted coconut milk, so if you don’t want coconut milk you can just add regular water and make this recipe.

Step 4 (Matar Pulao)

Then I am just going to add a few mint leaves, so just give a nice very mild pleasant flavour. Once the steam comes from the pressure cooker place the weight and cook for one whistle on medium flame the matar pulao is done.

You can see the rice is cooked beautifully, so there you go here is a simple yet delicious mutter pulao that can be made very easily now you can serve it with any side dish of your choice. So you can try this recipe in your home and enjoy it and share the recipe with your family and friends.
