Crispy Corn Cutlets are a delicious and popular Indian snack made with sweet corn, potatoes, and a variety of spices.

INGREDIENTS:

  • Sweet corn – 1 cup (boiled and coarsely crushed)
  • 2 large potatoes, boiled, peeled, and mashed
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onions
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped bell peppers
  • 2 green chillies, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon chat masala
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped coriander leaves
  • Oil for frying

    For coating:
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour (maida)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Bread crumbs for coating

Preparation Method

Step 1 (Crispy Corn Cutlet)

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the boiled and crushed sweet corn, mashed potatoes, bread crumbs, chopped onions, bell peppers, green chillies, ginger-garlic paste, cumin powder, garam masala, chat masala, salt, and coriander leaves and mix the mixture well.
  • Then mixture needs to be dividing into small equal portions and make round shape cutlets. In a shallow bowl, mix all-purpose flour and water to make a smooth batter.
  • Dip each cutlet into the batter, ensuring it’s coated on all sides. Then move the cutlet into bread crumbs and Roll it to coat it evenly. Repeat this process for all the cutlets.

Step 2 (Crispy Corn Cutlet)

  • Take a pan and add oil and heat it by keeping the flame on medium heat. In the hot oil move the coated cutlets in the pan, continue frying until they reaches golden brown colour on both sides. Make sure to flip them gently to avoid breaking.
  • Then move the cutlets from the pan and place them on a Tissue or Kitchen paper towel to remove the excess oil.
  • Serve the crispy corn cutlets hot with your favorite chutney or sauce. Enjoy these crispy and flavourful corn cutlets as a snack or appetizer. They can also be served with green chutney or ketchup.
