  • 2 tomatoes, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • Red chilli powder – 1 teaspoon
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
  • Water, as needed

  • Take a pan and add oil and heat it by keeping the flame on medium and then add 1 teaspoon cumin seeds.
  • Add the finely chopped onions and sauté until they turn translucent and golden brown.
    Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a minute until the raw smell disappears.
  • Add the chopped tomatoes and cook until they become soft and the oil begins to separate from the mixture.
  • Add the dry spices: turmeric powder, red chilli powder, ground coriander, and salt and mix it well.
  •  Add the diced potatoes and green peas to the mixture. Stir everything together.
    Pour enough water to cover the potatoes and peas.

  • Cover the pan and simmer on low heat until the potatoes are tender and cooked through. You may need to add more water if it becomes too dry during cooking.
  • After the potatoes are cooked, then add 1/2 teaspoon garam masala and mix well. Cook for a few more minutes until the flavors meld together and the gravy thickens to your desired consistency.
