Chilli sauce:

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon chilli sauce (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Step 1 (Chilli Momos)

Prepare the dough:
Mix the all-purpose flour, a pinch of salt, and water to form a soft, non-sticky dough.
Divide the dough into small portions and roll them into thin, round discs.

Prepare the filling:
In a bowl, combine minced meat, chopped vegetables, minced garlic, soy sauce, salt, and pepper. Place a spoonful of the filling in the center of each dough disc.

Shape the momos:
Fold the edges of the dough disc to form a half-moon shape, sealing the edges by pressing them together.

Steam the momos:
Place the momos in a steamer and steam for about 15-20 minutes until the dough is cooked and the filling is tender.

Prepare the chilli sauce:
In a pan, heat vegetable oil and sauté minced garlic until golden brown. Add 2 tablespoons of soy sauce and then add 1 tablespoon of chilli sauce and add 1 tablespoon of vinegar and then add salt and pepper as per your taste. Cook for a few minutes until well combined.

Serve:
Serve the steamed momos with the prepared chilli sauce for dipping. Chilli momos are enjoyed as a snack or appetizer and are often served with a side of spicy sauce for an extra kick. Feel free to adjust the spice levels in the sauce based on your preference.
